KitchenAid Sur La Table Revisted

The source who gave me information about a change in relationship between Sur La Table and KitchenAid, which resulted in this post from 7 weeks ago, has provided me an update.

It seems that the KitchenAid – Sur La Table relationship is just fine. No problems, just a change in merchandise selection in Sur La Table. And so we dutifully communicate this to you, dear reader.

There are some observations which can be made at this time.

1) There is a whole lot less KitchenAid product available for purchase at Sur La Table.

2) While the product inventories in the Sur La Table warehouses have been heavily depleted, as evidenced by broken links in my previous post and limited availability on surlatable.com, you may still find these products at your local Sur La Table store. The one nearest me had several KitchenAid clearance items in stock and available for purchase.

3) I did research online and found that SurLaTable.com IS carrying stand mixers in more color selections and a near complete array of related KitchenAid accessories – but they are at full retail price. If you are of the mind to purchase KitchenAid online at full price, why not go to Amazon.com and save some money.

As an aside, while I was wandering around Sur La Table, I couldn’t help but notice the massive Summer/Clearance sale going on right now. This isn’t the typical “we shouldn’t have bought this in the first place” clearance sale. This sale is bigger than anything I have seen since I have been shopping there and includes some great functional products.

The clearance items that caught my eye were de Buyer carbon steel skillets, a copper risotto pot, Reidel wine glasses, silicone bakeware and tools. The number of temporary sale items is pretty massive, so I won’t even begin to try to list anything here.

I have heard that the sale will last until the end of July, with the clearance items of course being available until they are gone. I think you will find something you can use at a great price.
