More Kitchenware Shops

by KitchenBoy on October 5, 2009

A while back, I began a list of favorite Kitchen Shops around North America. Recently, some new information has been provided to increase our list, including some international locations.

My original intent with this list was to provide a mini-guide to quality culinary shops. Even though I work in one, I love to wander around a good kitchen/culinary shop when I travel around the world. I am never too busy to enjoy a busman’s holiday.

Here are the new additions:

San Francisco, California

Culinaire – One Ferry Building Market Shop #35, If you go to San Francisco, you must go to the Ferry Building. It is a culinary geek heaven. This shop focuses on classic and rare culinary items. A real gem of a shop. http://www.culinairesf.com

Sur La Table – One Ferry Building Market Shop #37, While you are in the Ferry Building, stop by Sur La Table. Yes, a national chain but between Culinaire and Sur La Table, you get the combination of old and new. http://www.surlatable.com

Montreal, Quebec

Les Touilleurs – 152 Rue Laurier Ouest, A wonderfully complete shop in one of my favorite cities. http://www.lestouilleurs.com

Paris, France –

E. Dehllerin – 18 & 20, rue Coquillière – 1st Arr., A family business since 1820, E.Dehillerin is a timeless, classic kitchen shop. It is the inspiration for many of the culinary shops in the New World. http://www.e-dehillerin.fr

London, England

David Mellor – 4 Slone Square, A two level shop that makes any kitchen geek happy to browse. http://www.davidmellordesign.com

Tokyo, Japan

Sugimoto Cutlery – 10-2 Tsukiji 4Chome, Chou-ku, Tsukiji-Jogai Market, This is quite simply one of the world’s great cutlery only markets. Their selection of knives is awesome. They even make western style knives for those who need that classic feel. http://www.sugimoto-hamono.com

Please, please, please, if you know of other shops for our list, send them in an email or leave in a comment!
