I was initially disappointed, until I tried them. They work really well, and are perfect for things like a week's worth of lunch meat, where you're re-sealing frequently. I also like them for slightly moist food, since the moisture won't climb up the canister hose. I use them until the contents are gone, then throw them away, rather than trying to wash and re-use.
